Albania have qualified for the European Championships for the first time in their history after they secured a 3-0 victory against Armenia.
Gianni De Biasi’s side claimed three points to overhaul Denmark, who were not in action tonight, and qualify behind Portugal in Group I.
The scoring was opened courtesy of Kamo Hovhannisyan’s own goal before the lead was doubled by defender Berat Xhimshiti midway through the first-half.
Substitute Armando Sadiku put the result beyond doubt in the closing stages of the game to claim a place in history for Albania, who are 32nd in FIFA’s official
rankings.

The Albanians are one of four sides to qualify for the tournament for the first time alongside Wales, Northern Ireland and Iceland.
The European Championships have traditionally been competed for by 16 teams but UEFA have expanded the tournament to feature 24 sides in France next summer.
Denmark, who won the tournament as recently as 1992, will have to settle for a place in the play-offs.
